Propel Services Discontinued

After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue offering Propel Accelerator with Crocker Dial Up services. On October 30, 2009 all Propel users were sent a notice regarding this decision. The Propel Accelerator was shut off on November 30, 2009.

If you would like to continue using the Accelerator, you can order directly from Propel for $4.95 per month or $44.95 per year. The address for the Propel website is www.propel.com

Please note that it’s a good idea to uninstall the program in order to free up memory on your computer. All users were mailed Uninstall Instructions with the letter. They are also posted on this page and on the home page of this Support section.

If you have any questions or need assistance with the uninstall process, please contact Crocker Client Support and a technician will help you.

Crocker Client Support Office Hours:

Monday thru Friday, 8AM until 8PM

Local phone numbers:

  • Greenfield 475-1000

  • Northampton 387-1000

  • Springfield 654-1000

How To Uninstall Propel:

  • Click on Start --> Programs --> Propel Accelerator
  • Click on Uninstall Propel Accelerator

Alternatively, Propel Accelerator can be uninstalled using the Add/Remove Programs in control panel:

  • Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

IMPORTANT: If you are using Netscape, Opera, or Mozilla, when you stop or uninstall the Web Accelerator you will need to reset proxy settings to their original values (or no values). Until you do this, you will likely not be able to access the Internet.

Here’s how to restore Netscape’s proxy settings after uninstalling the Web Accelerator (these instructions generally apply to Opera and Mozilla):

  • Click on the Netscape Edit menu
  • Select Preferences
  • Double-click on Advanced
  • Click on Proxies

If there was a proxy address in use prior to installing the Web Accelerator, enter that address and port number (Netscape 4.7 only: click View… first). Otherwise, click “Direct Connection to the Internet.”
